David Luch directed and wrote the game parody "Behind the Dune" that is an in-joke of the epic science fiction novel and film "Dune". The story is set in the future amidst an interstellar feudal society which noble houses, with charge of the individual planets, owe allegiance to the Padishah Emperor. Dune tells the story of young Paul Atreides, whose noble family is entrusted with the care of the desert planet Arrakis. The planet is the sole source of "spice" which is the most valuable and important substance within the universe. Thus, Arrakis control is highly sought-after and threatening. The forces of the Empire fight for control over Arrakis the story explores the intricate interplay between politics and religion along with technology and human emotion.
